History Behind Pane e Vino
At the top of the cliff of the ancient restaurant “Lighthouse” on Whale Hill this beloved rocky point restaurant is located. It’s run by Luca Appedino, a chef born in Turin, Italy, he spent five years at San Remo ‘s Istituto Professionale Alberghiero (Culinary School). In Italy, he worked for a number of restaurants and resorts. His final restaurant in San Remo was 3 Pini Ristorante, where he worked from 1995 until 1999.
He moved to the United States in 2000 and began working for Tutti Santi in several places, his most recent employment in Arizona being Tutti Santi Scottsdale (2007-2010). Soon after, he relocated to Puerto Penasco and and on June 30, 2011, he launched his own restaurant, “Pane e Vino,” an intimate fine dining Italian restaurant where you can delight in the flavors of their homemade pasta, bread, meat seafood dishes, and much more.
